The more adventurous may wish to take a trip to Mullaghmore and the Karst region that has inspired many an artist.

If you are interested in more recent history, then a visit to Dysert O'Dea Castle is a must, as is Lemanagh Castle. And for a change of scenery there are many attractions such as Dromore Wood and Lough Atedaun for bird watching and fishing.

In relation to walking Corofin is a trailhead for the Burren Way national way-marked way. There are also two national loop walks in the Kilnaboy area, at Mullaghmore in the Burren National Park and nearby Lough Avalla Farm Walk. Another national loop walk can be found at the Dromore Nature Reserve in Ruan, 5 miles (7K) from Corofin.

FISHING

Within a radius of 12 km of Corofin there are approx 12 lakes of varying sizes in the River Fergus catchment. Within this relatively compact area, there is a wide range of angling options available - from wild Brown Trout fishing to Pike, Perch Bream, tench, Rudd and Eels. Fishing for all these species is free and permits are not required, however, Pike are protected by law.

GOLF

Corofin is an excellent base for golfers with no fewer than five top class courses located within a 13 mile (20k) radius of Corofin village. Lahinch boasts two courses, the world renowned chamionship links course and the less challenging Castle course.
